In response to the Web Comment of the Day in the Tuesday, December 18 issue, Mike clearly does not know his history very well if he thinks our forefathers were any less corrupt than the men and women running our country now. I suggest a history, or philosophy lesson on early American politics to help inform Mike on just what type of men drew up the Constitution. And how about that Electoral College. Let’s face it Mike. Nothing has really changed. There’s just a lot more money floating around to help make up our Congress member’s minds.

Telluriders; Faye and I went to the high school boys basketball game between Telluride and Ouray in Telluride on Thursday. It was a really good game with (unfortunately ) Telluride losing, but Ouray getting a lot of credit for coming back from a deep deficit to win. It was really a discrace to see that at every break in the game, 3 or 4 kids with towels would run onto the court to wipe up a water leak from the roof, in our beautiful, new, school. Not only is this a discrace to watch, but a really dangerous situation for the players who could be badly injured when stepping on the water and losing footing in the game. Someone needs to get this situation fixed. This is not even close to an appropriate situation for our kids to play in. paul
